Tennin- an angel of sorts

Tennins are spiritual beings found in Japanese Buddhist art  that are similar to western angels. They can fly, and sometimes wear feathered kimonos called hagoromo ("dress of feathers").

I originally painted this illustration for Highlights for Children Magazine.

Oh, come, angel band. Come and around me stand. Bear me away on your snowy wings to my immortal home.
