If a giraffe could paint this could be her self portrait

Personally I'm all out of self portraits but I'm posting my giraffes here. I've seen elephants paint so maybe if a giraffe could paint this would be her self portrait. Yes, it's a stretch I know.

It works for me - nice giraffes. My sister just went round for round with a giraffe- he gave her a giant goose egg and almost concussion!

Wow Peggy,
Not very often you hear about somebody having a "head on" with a giraffe. We need details on that story.
Thanks!
Cathy

Peggy... do explain a little more please. Is your sister very, very tall by any chance... or was she perhaps wearing stilts at the time?

Nice image Cathy, I love the gentle delicacy of their faces. Giraffes also have the most amazing eyes don't they!

This is my sisters blog where she tells the story... she is working in kenya with Free the Children for 9 months (I miss her like crazy but am so glad of technology)

June,
Giraffes are really unique. Didn't realize how bizarre looking they are until I started researching and drawing them. I just don't get how they have adapted genetically to look like they do. And yes their eyes are amazing.

I checked your sister's blog out, about her Giraffe encounter :o) Sounds like she is having many amazing (less painful) experiences in Kenya.

I was told during a recent zoo experience, that Giraffes do not have the ability to store fat in their bodies... I wish I had a few Giraffe Genes. I could do with some height, and a lot less fat!
