Spooky!

This piece was inspired by a real life event. I woke up early one Sunday morning to what I thought were the cats chasing a mouse. But it was no mouse. It was a bat, which flew directly into my face. And left a nifty scratch down my cheek. Spooky, for sure!

I hope there was a happy ending to this tale!
I rather like bats :¬)

June-- I actually like them too! It wasn't a happy ending for him (poor little guy!) but it was for me-- he tested negative for rabies.

Yowza! Well, the illustration is really great. I love the coloring, the linework, and the composition. Most of all I love the posing of the bat.

Thanks, Breadwig! It's funny-- their bodies are tiny, but when they're flapping around they seem huge! :-)

Beautiful use of color, and love the tilt.

ouch - the negative rabies is a good thing! I will never forget my dad, every fall chasing bats around the house with a tennis racket....

Peggy-- I've heard so many stories like that-- it makes me think maybe we all overreact these days! Oh well, better safe... I suppose.
