Robert's Snowflake

My Snowflake for 2007 is an image from "The Little Match Girl" by Hans Christian Andersen, continuing a theme I started last time with "The Wild Swans." My son read the story out loud to me (that was fun, especially as he hardly reads anymore..) and I took it from there. It was making my teeth chatter to draw that cold little girl barefoot in the snow! The back of this is just snow falling. Oh - and it's acrylic. I've enjoyed seeing everyone else's snowflakes.

This is so lovely, Ellen! And, what an interesting idea to continue a theme from year to year. You'll have a beautiful coherent collection of images. Very beautifully done!

Beautiful work Ellen. One of these days I promise myself I'll make another attempt at getting involved in the snowflake business, though I pretty well gave up after two non-acceptances. Perhaps third time lucky!

Oops, the previous one was me trying to add to what I said. Anyway, really nice snowflake, Ellen. It's been a long time since I have read that story. The poor little thing, freezing, barefoot in the snow.

Ellen- I love the depth you got into that tiny space and the soft color is really beautiful. As to those cold toes, the piece is so warm, I don't feel the chill!
